Mom Travel Style

We love traveling and even though we've got our little guy now, we haven't lost any of our wanderlust. I just make sure to pack comfy shoes, jeggings, button down blouses that don't need dry cleaning, a coat for two and a great baby carrier (preferably one they can eat/sleep in). For other great tips on traveling with bebe, check out my friend Linda's blog

Floral Followup

I loved my sister's post on florals, and wanted to followup with some office-friendly floral suggestions. You definitely won't end up looking like a walking couch or drapes in any of these picks.

I absolutely adore this Milly dress. It's perfectly feminine, yet conservative.

You know I love a good peplum. Here's one with a punch of color.

Diana Dots

Ever since I was a little girl, I've loved the iconic looks of Princess Diana. I recall especially loving her polka dot outfits.

I'm happy to see polka dots everywhere (here, here) this season, including denim.

Suit Style

I really can't pull off certain statement necklaces at work without getting made fun of, but this one pairs quite nicely with my suits. A little bling is a good thing.

Statement Necklaces

When it comes to accessories, I like to make a statement but you'll never see me with several bangles, rings, earrings and a necklace. I think it looks fantastic on others, but it's just too many moving parts for me. I used to wear oversized earrings every day, but ever since Baby developed an interest in yanking on them, I've had to stop. Enter, the Statement Necklace.

I saw someone wearing this on the street the other day and I liked it so much I hunted it down and bought it in navy. Probably a better choice for the office than the infamous bubble necklace

Guest Blogger: Nene on Floral Prints

I first noticed these great floral print designs at Stella McCartney's S/S 2011 collection. I love the way the flowers, leaves and fruits are arranged around the cloth making this seem very unique. This isn't some random bolt of cloth cut up into a dress! And while yellow isn't my favorite color, this print and dress are gorgeous. Also, and I just noticed this, to me, the way the pattern is arranged looks sort of like a really colorful Rorschach test.

I next noticed a gorgeous floral print, but red this time, at the Oscar de la Renta show from the S/S 2012 Season. I very much like the way the pattern is duplicated and reversed on the bodice of the dress, and all along the skirt, and also how the outfit is paired with a surprising yet surprisingly complimentary beautiful red geometric belt--it really ties the look together.

And who can forget the fabulous florals and lace of the Dolce and Gabbana collection  from the same season?

Yes, the patterns might look a little bit like couch fabric, and while in Hobby Lobby yesterday, I saw a beautiful upholstery cloth that would make a fine doppelganger for a Dolce and Gabbana dress, but kudos to them for seeing the beauty of upholstery fabric and making it into gorgeous high end dresses. And I very much like how the pattern on the dress is reversed and arranged on the bodice and skirt.
And I might just go back and buy some of that fabric and make myself a skirt like this:

Bon Voyage!

We're leaving for Paris! Tomorrow. We are just a little excited. (Don't worry, we won't actually dress like this when we get there.)

Love this comfy sweater.

Embellished (or Baby Repeller)

Hope everyone is enjoying the long weekend. This is how I do sweats. (Though the stoning on this top makes it a cuddle-with-baby "don't".)

Mom Jeans

I was initially terrified of jeggings. This didn't help much. But once I tried them, I never looked back. Now I have several pair (in fact, I may never wear normal jeans again). These are my current favorites.

Here's what you really came for:

Thank you, Victoria

Several seasons ago, this awesome dress hit the fashion scene and was an instant hit. I've been hooked on VB ever since. This season, peplums are everywhere at every price point.

The timing is perfect. I now have a stylish solution for the feminine figure wrecking ball known as a baby. I call this my "postpartum peplum".

Yes, this library has fake book wallpaper. Brilliant.

Apparently this is called a "pussy bow". It's already been dissected and defined, so I'll spare you.

Baby books? Boooooring! He's ready for the good stuff...
